About Julie
Julie Schieffelin is a Georgia-based contemporary artist known for bold acrylic paintings that celebrate color, movement, and the emotional power of expressive mark-making. With an instinct-driven approach and a fearless palette, her work blends abstraction with recognizable forms, creating pieces that feel both playful and intentional. Active in the Atlanta art community since 1998, Julie has exhibited her work in private and group shows at prominent Atlanta galleries and arts venues, including Grandview Gallery, The Goat Farm Arts Center, and Gallery Ocho, as well as in multiple private shows throughout the Southeast. Her work has also been featured in several publications across Atlanta and the Southeast. She currently works out of her studio at the Tannery Row Artist Colony in Buford, Georgia, where she continues to develop new bodies of work and teaches aspiring artists to explore their creative voice and deepen their relationship with the artistic process.
Inspired by nature, pattern, and the energy of everyday life, Julie creates artwork that is vibrant, uplifting, and unapologetically bold. Each piece is built through layered color and intuitive decisions, capturing movement and emotion while leaving space for personal interpretation. Julie is passionate about inviting more people into creative practice and introducing others to the joy, confidence, and freedom that come from making art.
